Movie magic, creative painting techniques
1 inch Styrofoam that has been CNC cut with a brick pattern. Using a heat gun to manipulate the surface into an old style brick surface. Caulking the joints between the sheets which were 4‘ x 8’ painting these can be seen on my other videos. Using the heat gun provides a stronger and more stable service as well.

    This is good video and your result is very good. You mention a colorant that you used. What colorant and what exactly did you mix it with?

    The overall PROCESS is easy to u/stand & replicate. The PROBLEM that arises however, is there are no videos that show the application on surfaces that are NOT some demo, flat panel piece of w/ever it is being used. In o/words, what about doors where you've got raised panel areas which obviously have recessed areas...a raw cut MAILBOX post where you've got grain running in all directions...the edges/sides of let's say doors, etc...small shoe molding trimmed areas, so on & so forth. So these videos are great, SURE, but "real world" application is what's not being conveyed or taught. HA...I see I watched this video over *SEVEN YEARS AGO* by noticing my comment, but yeah...the same thing exists, no real world application videos for "troubled" areas that simply aren't FLAT.

    can you do this with paint and the stain or is it paint on top of paint for the second layer?

    • @VaughanBaker
      @VaughanBaker 10 месяцев назад

      It is paint on paint. The first coat is a solid colour and then the parts that you make the woodgrain with are actually a mix of tint which is colourant put in acrylic clear. The kind of clear you’d put on a wood floor. This gives you a translucent Coating for the woodgrain and the toner.

    Hi, that's very great. Thanks a lot. I want to paint my worn dark doors without loos my wood-optic. On this occasion, I would like to lighten it very much. I searched through the whole internet and have already given up. I guess the yellow ground is lacquer and both coatings are simply glazes, right? My english is very rusty. I'm sorry for that. God save the Google Translate.
